As you may recall, last month (was it only last month? It feels like a mythic time...) --
Last month we went to Le Fonti, Chianti, and tasted the delicious wines and olive oil of the Caciorgna-Bernini team. Along with Ken's sister and her husband, we ordered something like a dozen cases of good stuff. We returned home, eagerly expecting to get word of our shipment.
Oh we did. We were told that the shipping of these dozen cases would amount to 1350 euros. One thousand three hundred and fifty. Euros. Roughly 2000 bucks.
This amount is about double what I expected. It might be no big deal for some, but for us it's a deal-breaker. No can do.
Our friend Tony Sasa suggested maybe getting an importer to add it to one of his shipments to the States, thereby reducing the freight cost. I've asked a couple of people if they would do this favor for us, at cost. No go.
So I appeal to you. If you know somebody who can help us out here, I will be your friend eternally. Let me know.
The winter will be a lot longer without that extraordinary Le Fonti vinsanto to sip...

Have you talked to IWG? He most likely can point you in the right direction there in NY.

No but that's a good idea. Hadn't thought of him since he is not based here. Thanks.
