As another public service, I am providing direct internal links to all the mentions of Albino Armani. (Click on the purple type for links.) This northeastern Italian winery, a family concern for 400 years, has been a popular search term recently, and not just from Egle Armani and her colleagues. Whatever Egle and her azienda are doing, they are generating a nice buzz all over the United States and in other English-speaking nations too. I don't know how much their championing of a "new" heritage grape, the casetta or foja tonda (round leaf), has to do with it; but that is a nice shtick. I realize they've staked a lot on this old/new grape, but I happen to like Armani's Marzemino and Pinot Nero somewhat more.
Anyway, you have to be supportive of a winery when its point woman (Egle) says, "It's immoral to charge too much for wine."
Amen to that.
