"See my friends"? What means?
Aside from the fact that it's the title of Kinks song, the phrase refers to the golden opportunity to meet Jerry and Rudy Duford when they stay at a villa near Livorno in July. Jerry is one of my oldest and dearest friends. They're nice people, interested in everything, they will have a car and would like to eat at interesting restaurants and drink excellent wines in a 2-hour radius of the great wine port of Italia. I ask because my appeal last year, when they were going to visit Provence, proved to be a big success. Mike Tommasi gave me/them some top-notch recs which turned out marvelously well for the Dufords. They raved about their stay in Provence.
I hope you who know that part of Tuscany will supply the names and addresses of some splendid places to go in il livornese as well as Florence and Siena. Speaking for myself, I've eaten at some nice places in those cities but remember little about them, least of all the names.

Besides, Jerry presented me with a bottle of Vieux Telegraphe CDP last night as a thank you for the assistance in making a great vacation last year. That was probably the nicest bottle anyone's given me. I'd like an Italian bottle of equal renown, per piacere.
