Doug Cook of Ablegrape has asked his Twitter and blogging buddies to help publicize the new, improved Ablegrape search engine. He asked, so I'm helping. That's just the kind of guy I am.
No, but seriously, folks, this search engine beats the hell out of Google when it comes to wine searches. And I'm talking about anything in the realm of vino, including blogs, writers, wineries and grapey topics of all sorts. You get intelligently filtered search results that save you time and aggravation (contrast with Google) as you scan quickly to the specific subset of information you are looking for. What's more, you tap into hitherto unknown (to me) sources and aggregations of articles, posts and producer info.
Here's an example. I did a search with the term "mondosapore." With the enhanced goodness of the software, I was able to filter results by such easy-to-discern sidebar categories such as PRODUCER, PRESS (subdivided into BLOGS, TRADE etc.), and country (with subdivisions by regions/provinces). Pretty impressive.
It's all so simple even a drunken old sot can operate it. And it's free!
