In today's New York Times there's an article about Obama's effective endorsement-by-devotion of BlackBerry.
One marketing guru puts the value of this, worldwide, at $50 million. This appears to be a one-man stimulus package for Research in Motion, the Ontario firm that makes the indispensable device.
I'm wondering how all this might benefit me. After all, I, like our esteemed President-elect, am a devoted BlackBerry user -- "user" being the right word, since I am addicted to the thing. (World Edition 8830, for the record.) I mean, you can keep your gimmicky iPhone and shitty AT&T service. Give me the global email-on-the-move champ any day.
There, RIM, how much is Strappo's ringing endorsement worth to you? $1 million? $250,000? $450.39? I'll take it. Unlike Barry O, there's no conflict of interest here. Bring it on.

is it possible to lose customers over an endorsement? i can see the execs at blackberry trying to distance themselves from you now...
