I tend to dismiss theocentric philosophies. They seem to operate in a double-talking neverland. But it occurred to me one day that theologies and mysticism do have profound effects on everyday life. Two examples came to me -- one readily, the other weeks later. No doubt there are plenty of others.
1. The mathematical concept of zero. It was the creation of Indian mathematicians. Could it have come into being without the underlying concept of Nirvana?
2. Virtuality. This was crucial in the development of computing. Would it have been conceivable without the underlying argument of the there/not there, same/not same of the Holy Trinity?

its kinda like how you never realize how big your fingers are until you measure them starting from your knuckles.
your fingers are HUGE. im serious. check it out.

You think you're funny, don't you, mister? I was trying to make a serious point, I'll have you know.
OK, so maybe it was an idiotic one. But I was serious.
